PERCY COLLINS - SYDNEY'S "STREET BALLADEER"

Came across an article on the web on a long-forgotten "street balladeer" from 1920s and '30s Sydney:
"Paddy" (or "Percy") P.F. Collins.

While his name is practically unknown, some of his verses on Phar Lap and Les Darcy are often quoted. Interestingly, he often sold "ballad sheets" of his work at Sydney rugby league matches on Saturdays, wandering about the hill and stands of the SCG in particular.

His work seems to have been fairly prolific, and would be nice if one day some ballads on rugby league stars are unearthed.
