"If
you Iike an attacking five-eighth who moves with the power of
a tank and the speed of a Porsche, Wally's your man. If you like
a skilful organiser who can pass the ball 40m and a land a bomb
on a postage stamp, Wally's the one. If you want all those qualities
plus a player who tackles like a pile-driver, then Wally's definitely
your man." Published

It is a measure of the standing Wally Lewis holds in the game of Rugby League, and his ongoing popularity despite retiring from the playing field a decade ago, that this is the fourth book on his career.
The first three books, all by Adrian McGregor, were released through his career, starting with King Wally (1986), Wally and the Broncos (1989) and The Emporer, Wally Lewis (1993). If you can secure a copy of the triology, it is well worth it.
Wally Lewis - Forever the King is not the fourth book in the series, but a timely retrospective drawing upon the previous three works. For the first time, Lewis' spectacular, and controversial, career is available in one biography.
The book also provides a look at Wally's life since retiring from football - including the stint as Queensland Origin coach and his restoring of the friendship with Wayne Bennett.
Over recent years Lewis has been inducted into the ARL Hall of Fame, the Rugby League Week Immortals and had the State of Origin 'Player of the Series' medal named in his honour. Not that Lewis had faded from the game, but these tributes have focused renewed attention on the great man's career.
Wally Lewis - Forever the King will again reinforce the opinion of those that saw him play as to his greatness. For those too young, or new to the game, who want to know why Wally Lewis holds such an illustrious position in Australian Rugby League history, it is a must.
